Latest Updates from Our Project:

Week 3 perks + Legendary all-in + VIP bonuses + Contact sheets for original art
about 3 years ago – Mon, Mar 08, 2021 at 11:36:13 AM

Hi,

This was a big week, and I have a lot of announcements, including your new free week 3 perks, a new legendary pledge level, images of all our original pages, and some cool new projects to check out.

Thank you so much for being a backer!!! I'm so excited you chose to join me behind the backer wall.

Russell

Your free week 3 perks:

Every week during our campaigns I try to give away some free comics and books for backers and people who back. Not only have you unlocked everything for the week you pledged and beyond, but just for being a backer you've also unlocked digital copies of Broke Down and Four Dead Bodies #1 by Travis Gibb, Felix Novara, James Sims, Jerome Gagnon, David Comodo and Heather Gibb, Blood and Concrete #1 by Andy X Jenkins, Ray Dillon, Michael Okoragha, Rob Jones, and Colin O'Mahoney, Savage Sasquanaut #1 by Wes Hartman and Gab Santos, Super #1-3 by Zachary Dolan, Tara Kappel Everardo Orozco, Justin Piatt, Laurie Foster, and Estela Yanez, The Facts in the Case of M. Valdemar by Edgar Allen Poe and illustrated by Tyler Blake, and The Preyground #1 by Madelaine Salvage and Marc L. Thomas.

These will come during Backerkit fulfillment as part of your pledge.  All you have to do is nothing, and even if you change your pledge, you'll still maintain all your unlocked perks.

Legendary ALL-IN mentorship pledge:

A couple of weeks ago I offered the ultimate ALL-IN, and I was super excited for the response. Some people asked me about mentorship, which is something I've done sparingly throughout my career, but I have decided to make TWO spots open during this campaign for a HUGE discount, in something I'm calling my LEGENDARY ALL-IN.

The LEGENDARY ALL-IN is not cheap, but it's all packed with EVERYTHING you could possibly need to be a successful comic or novel creator.

Most importantly, and what makes it so expensive, is that it included 24 hours of mentoring, one-on-one, with me, a $7200 value by itself, over the course of a year.

That's ONE YEAR of mentoring from me about how to become a more successful creator and/or novelist, how to build your career, and how to take yourself to the next level.

Plus this package includes EVERY. SINGLE. ONE. Of my courses. That's right. ALL OF THEM.

Every single one…

…including Build a Rabid Fanbase, Crush it On Kickstarter, Create Profitable Facebook ads, How to set up and run an AWESOME comics anthology, Write a Great Novel, both of my non-fiction books in ebook and audio, How to run a 5000+ viral builder, and How to Build Your Audience From Scratch.

You'll learn everything I've ever imparted in my whole career and everything that makes me successful as a creator, in these courses.

Just these courses ALONE are a $2,000 value, but that's not even close to it.

Plus, you'll get 10 total comics (eight in hardcover, two in softcover + a sketchbook) ($350 value)

Plus, digital copies of our graphic books and digital novels. ($150 value).

Plus, nine of our pins. ($100 value)

Plus you'll be drawn into volume #4 ($150 value).

Plus, you'll get a special thanks in volume #3.

Plus, signed copies of both of my non-fiction books in paperback. ($50 value)

That's $10,000 in value for basically a year of one-on-one mentorship along with all my courses, books, and everything you would need to build out a creative career, but especially for comic book creators and novelists.

The cost is $3,000 for this awesome package, which is 70% off from buying each of these items separately. I've been doing consulting for a long time under the radar, but this is the first and maybe ONLY time I've offered it publicly.

Manage your pledge

I'm only planning to have these open for ONE WEEK, and there are ONLY TWO of them. You can move to this pledge level by going to the main page, clicking manage your pledge at the top, and choosing your new pledge level.

Original art images

I announced original art last week, but Renzo sent me pictures of all the original art he has in his possession, and I was able to create imagery of what we have so you can get a sense of how cool these original pages look. I've split them into covers, splash pages, and interior pages.  You can move to any of these pledge levels by going to the main page, clicking manage your pledge at the top, and choosing your new pledge level.

Covers - $200

The most expensive, and iconic pages of original art we have available are our covers. You can pick up one of the below covers by changing your pledge to $200, or adding a $200 cover in the add-on menu. This is also how you would get multiple covers, or pages, on top of your pledge. All pledge levels for original art include a copy of one of our hardcover books, special thanks, and our exclusive pin.

Manage your pledge

I also have the issue 5 variant cover from Walter Ostlie, which I don't have an example of in inks, but it's a very, very cool variant, which is the same price as the ones above.

Splash pages - $150

Splash pages are single-panel pages in which Renzo puts an incredible amount of work, and would look lovely as framed art. If you would like any of these pages, you can either manage your pledge and change it to $150, or you can add a splash page for $150 in the add-on menu. All pledge levels for original art include a copy of one of our hardcover books, special thanks, and our exclusive pin.

 Manage your pledge

There are also TWO splash pages from volume three that I didn't include here because I didn't want to show you spoilers, but if you back at the original art level, then you'll see them before anyone else. So, go manage your pledge now.

Interior pages - $75/$100

There are two options for interior art. If you want to choose a page of original art, you can either change your pledge to $100, or add-on $100 to your pledge through the add-on menu. All pledge levels for original art include a copy of one of our hardcover books, special thanks, and our exclusive pin.

There is also a two-book for $140 and a three-book combo option for $180.

For $75, I will pick your page. This is only available in the add-on menu, as are grab-bag pages from Gherkin Boy ($25) and How NOT to Invade Earth ($15).

These are all the interior, non-splash pages from volumes 1-2. I also have all the pages from volume 3, but I decided not to spoil it for you. You will be able to choose from them during fulfillment, though, if you choose.

Manage your pledge

I got really excited as I was making these sheets. They look even more awesome than I thought they would and can't wait to frame a couple for myself!

Come hang out with me

Everybody who backs at the $50+ level will get a special thanks in the book as well, but I wanted to do something special for the people who have gone that extra mile for this campaign.

I did a Zoom call with backers of the Summer Slate campaign last year, and it was great. They asked me questions about my books. I shared with them special insights and upcoming projects. They got sneak peeks at books I hadn't shared with ANYONE before. It was awesome, and I'm going to be doing it again for this campaign.

All you have to do is pledge (or up your pledge) to $50+, and you'll get an invite to our Zoom call later in the year. If you've pledged already, just go back to the page and click MANAGE YOUR PLEDGE, and then choose your new pledge level.

Manage your pledge

If you're already at the $50 level, then you get this new perk included in your pledge. If not, then all you have to do is manage your pledge, and pick any of the awesome new pledge levels I have opened, or any of our other pledge levels.

Other projects to check out

Chronicles of the Immortal Swordsmen #1

Kickstarter link

Phil Du feels a yearning in his heart for something so awe-inspiring and indescribable that it overwhelms him.  But his life is filled with struggle.  While he bides his time with parkour and as Ironpond, his alter-ego in a virtual fantasy game, he is beginning to have visions of strange things -- like immortality.

Somehow Jade's search for Ironpond is connected to a mysterious cave that holds the answer to his visions and his entre into the Immortal World, a mystical place of energy powers, fantastic weapons, and the realm of the Immortal Swordsmen, an ancient order of supernatural warriors who are charged with protecting our living world.

But rumors of a spirit hunter and the coming of a mysterious occurrence know as The Reckoning incites a new civil war that spills the Immortal World into ours.

Why I think you'll love it:

I backed their last Kickstarter for The Adept that was written by Charlie Stickney, and I really dug it. This is Wuxia meets magic and I really can't wait to read it.

Apocalypse Wasteland 3d printable STL files for tabletop

Kickstarter link

The year is 2000, natural disasters and war have taken the earth, leaving science and sorcery to rule.  Aliens and mutants have chosen the planet during its vulnerable time and humans are either on the run, or working with war-crazed and desperate humans. Welcome to the world of  Powersword Miniatures, taking your tabletop back to Saturday mornings! This campaign will focus on the wasteland side of things but we are also offering the previous waves as well which focused more on the heroic fantasy of this world.

Why I think you'll love it:

I see a lot of miniatures on Kickstarter, but there are very few ones dealing with Apocalyptic scenarios, and since Ichabod takes place during the Apocalypse, this might be your jam.

Broke Down And Four Dead Bodies 1-4 (COMPLETE STORY) CRIME

Kickstarter link

Broke Down And Four Dead Bodies is a 4 Issue Mini-series written by Travis Gibb, with art by Felix Novara and colors by James Sims. Thanks to our amazing backers and fans, we’ve ridden the success of three incredible Kickstarters to become an indie comic hit! This is an EPIC story and we want you all the way to the home stretch. ISSUES 1 - 3 are already printed but now its time for ISSUE #4.

After years of being on the bottom, Randy and Denver are finally on their way to being “Made Men.” Someone had other plans and now a simple drop has them broke down on the side of the road with four dead bodies.

Why I think you'll love it:

Travis did a really cool story about the Cats of Ulthar for our Cthulhu is Hard to Spell: The Terrible Twos anthology, and I was a part of his Cthulhu Invades Oz anthology last year. This book is different since it's crime and not fantasy, but I really like his writing and think you will, too.

Paths of Savage Gods (Dungeon Master tool)

Kickstarter link

Lyniat.games are running a campaign for Dungeon Masters called “Paths of Savage Gods”, which can procedurally generate & manage fantasy TTRPG adventures!

There is an enormous amount of preparation that Dungeon Masters have to do before any dice get rolled no matter whether it’s an online or live session. They need to find a map or draw one, load it into the online tool of their choice, lay a grid over it, maybe they take the extra time and trouble to configure the map for lighting and lines of sight. If they have a long game night coming up it’s almost impossible to predict where their players will go and which maps will be needed. You don’t want to be the Dungeon Master delaying the game while you search for a good map or sketch out a new map while your players wait to get back to adventuring.

Why I think you'll love it:

DMing a game is so very hard, and the longer a campaign goes on, the harder it gets, and this can help a lot,  I know a lot of people who read our books DM campaigns, too. This is a little different from our other campaigns I usually share, but I thought it was a neat one.

ZOMG!!!!! ORIGINAL ART PAGES NOW AVAILABLE!!!
about 3 years ago – Sat, Mar 06, 2021 at 07:10:24 PM

Hi,

I have two announcements today - one big and one HUGE!!!!!

First the big one, I am adding a new perk to all $50+ backers. Everybody who backs at the $50+ level will receive an invite for a special VIP hangout with me where I'll answer questions about Ichabod, give previews about other books, and generally geek out with you about all manner of things. :)

That announcement dovetails into my HUGE, MIND-BLOWING ANNOUNCEMENT.

For the first time EVERY, I'm offering ORIGINAL, INKED PAGES from Ichabod Jones! That's right. Up until just a couple of days ago, I was under the impression that Renzo did all the work on Ichabod digitally, but just recently he revealed he has EVERY inked page and MOST of the covers from Ichabod, so I'm making them available to YOU for the first time ever.

Additionally, while cleaning out my office I found all the original inked pages from both Gherkin Boy and How NOT to Invade Earth, which I'm adding as add-ons, too!

We have:

- Grab bag Ichabod pages ($75)

- Ichabod original pages ($100)*

- Ichabod splash pages ($150)*

- Ichabod covers ($200)*

- Grab bag How NOT to Invade Earth pages ($15)

- Grab bag Gherkin Boy pages ($25)

You can pick up ANY of these through the add-on menu. However, the starred ones are available as pledges, AND you get a hardcover edition of the book, along with the exclusive pin, special thanks, and VIP invite with your pledge. These start at $100 for an interior page, $150 for a splash page, and $200 for a cover page. I have also made the two book and three book combos available with an interior page at $140 and $180.

You can pick up more than one page in the add-on menu, too. I would scoop up a few myself, and I'm DEFINITELY asking Renzo to send me some for my own personal collection.

These pages are going to be available on a first come-first served basis. After the campaign, I will ask you to list your 10 favorite pages from the first three volumes, and the people who pledge first will get the first crack at their list.

Here are some of my favorite non-spoilery inks from the first two volumes.

Since you've already pledged, you can go back to the page, click MANAGE YOUR PLEDGE, choose your new pledge level, and then go through the add-on list.

Kickstarter link

If you are an international backer, please contact me for package details. Since I have to ship a separate package for these originals, I need to charge more for shipping, but I have some ideas about how to make it right for you.

This is WHOLLY unique to this campaign. I've never offered them before because I never knew they existed before!

You'll NEVER get a chance to choose from every page again, as I'm expecting them to go quickly.

Brick of Scotland Yard and the resourceful mechanic Juliette McKinnon, the new Holmes and Watson must defeat the zealot known only as "The Scholar" and prevent Europe from descending into war!

MAJOR HOLMES & CAPTAIN WATSON #3-4 picks up right where we left off and completes the first arc of the series, known as "The Adventure of the Vengeful Scholar." Having discovered the existence of the villainous cabal known as "The Moriarty," fanatical followers of the long-dead Napolean of Crime, the new Holmes and Watson must rely on their friends and their skills to uncover their nefarious plan and rescue someone very important to Sheffield Holmes.  But will the dark secrets in each of their pasts unravel the nascent 6th Special Intelligence Service? Issue 3 is a 24-page thriller that continues the tale, and the jam-packed 36 page Issue #4 brings the shocking conclusion to life. That's 60 pages of comics, what a deal!

Why I think you'll love it:

Jeff's books are always super fun, and this one is no different. I'm always up for a new, interesting take on Sherlock Holmes, and I think Jeff delivers that in this book.

BETE NOIR - BOOKS ONE, TWO and THREE

Kickstarter link

A world without its heroes.

Only villains remain...

...but a ghost of the past has returned to exact bloody vengeance.

Issue 1 raised many questions about the identity of the mysterious masked vigilante apparently returned from the dead. Now, they continue that journey with issues 2 & 3 of the series - expanding on this strange damaged world that once had superheroes - but now just has the man calling himself The Djinn.

As the plot thickens, and the body count rises, The Djinn finds himself having to face off against old friends and enemies - foremost among them - the Marvellous Mystician.

Bete Noir is a twisty journey of shocks and surprises. The Djinn is gathering resources, manipulating old friends and enemies, and settling old scores.

Why I think you'll love it:

This book looks like it's a little bit Hellboy, a little bit Watchmen, and a little bit Hellboy, and I am totally here for all of that.

MONOLITH - a cinematic graphic novel by designer LRNZ

Kickstarter link

MONOLITH is a visually stunning suspense thriller illustrated by visionary artist and designer LRNZ (Golem, Viewpoint, Astrogamma) and written by ROBERTO RECCHIONI (Orphans, Dylan Dog) and MAURO UZZEO (Orphans, Dylan Dog). This lushly painted tale began as a graphic novel project before turning quickly into a live-action feature film production, with LRNZ’s visual design direction brought to life. Once principal photography was complete, LRNZ went back to complete the graphic novel as originally envisioned, with highly dynamic visuals that change styles throughout to convey the range of moods, dreams, and psychological trials Sandra experiences during this frightening 48-hour period.

Why I think you'll love it:

I am seriously going to go broke backing all of Magnetic Press's amazing campaign, but I just can't deny they ALWAYS make the most amazing hardcover books. Aster of Pan was one of my favorite books of the last year, and I can't wait for this one.

Your new unlocked rewards
about 3 years ago – Tue, Mar 02, 2021 at 03:48:37 AM

Hi!

It's a new week, which means I've unlocked new perks for everybody that backs this week. Since you've already backed, that means you get these rewards as well.

All you have to do is not cancel your pledge before the end of the campaign, and these nine books will be yours.

Just one way I say thanks for believing in Ichabod. Additionally, don't forget that I've added a ton of digital add-ons to the campaign, including all my comic books, and if you're a pinhead, I've added all our pins as well. All you have to do is go to the main page, manage your pledge, and choose the add-ons you want from the menu.

Manage your pledge

We have add-ons from $5-$500 for any budget level.

We're currently $6,300 from goal, with a long way to go before the end. I have plenty of coolness to share with you in the next couple of weeks as well. I can't wait to share this third volume of Ichabod with you.

Other projects I think you'll love

The Way of Wrath - Story driven, Open World RPG

Kickstarter link

The Way of Wrath is a story-driven, open-world, tactical RPG set in a pre-historic shamanistic world. Inspired by Baldur's Gate, Gothic, & The Legend of Zelda. Discover exciting secrets and explore beautiful but deadly landscapes with many unique areas, each offering distinct challenges. Combat is fast, dynamic, and lethal. Use clever tactics, chain party skills into combos, and master the art of war.

Why I think you'll love it:

I love me some Legend of Zelda, and if you're telling me this is a more violent, immersive version of the Zelda games I've loved in the past, I'm totally in.

Elsewhere: Volume 2

Kickstarter link

Elsewhere is a lovingly curated anthology of short pieces by independent creators from all over the world. Genres, styles, moods, and interpretations of reality shift very quickly across more than two hundred and fifty pages of gorgeous art and smart storytelling.

The end result is a wild ride at the speed of imagination.

We have all the stories ready to go to press and make a beautiful book you’ll be proud to show off. Our Kickstarter goal is enough to guarantee printing; if we reach stretch goals, we spread the wealth out among the contributing art teams.

Observe departure safety protocols and descend to the life-support tanks in an orderly fashion. You are about to embark ...

... Elsewhere.

Folded in this book is a deep mystery composed of fabulous, exciting, funny, and terrifying short comix works. Boundaries between genres, styles, moods, time, and space will appear to blur and dissolve. Industry professionals share the pages with fresh new talent. These phenomena are natural. Do not be alarmed.

Your return from this voyage is not guaranteed. Nor is your sanity, nor your concept of reality. In exchange, you are relieved of limitations. You are free.

Why I think you'll love it:

Unlikely Heroes Studios always delivers amazing books. If you haven't checked them out yet, then you are in for a treat because they are one of the absolute best comic companies out there. Elsewhere is a really cool concept that features all sorts of amazing ideas from all over the comic book universe. It's bold and ambitious and I love that about it.

Flesh Eating Cheerleaders from Outer Space #1

Kickstarter link

When a meteor crashes in the middle of campus, the students at Pullman University didn't realize that they were being invaded. These space creatures are able to inhabit and take over the human body. So, what happens when a group of cheerleaders are caught in the middle? They become these flesh-eating cannibals, of course.

Soon, the problem isn't going to be the creatures, it's going to be the monsters that these cheerleaders become.

Why I think you'll love it:

There's something to be said for camp, and it's not something you see enough in comics. The Kickstarter page talks about trying to inhabit the feel of old B-movies, and sometimes, you just want to curl up with some camp and forget that there's real-world consequences for things.

The Darkness of Diggory Finch: Modern Lovecraftian Horror

Kickstarter link

Diggory Finch is unaware that he has a tremendous darkness within him, and you’re going to join him on his journey to witness the spectacle when that power is unleashed on the people of Twin Falls, and the unsuspecting world beyond.

His story picks up as he begins a journey back to Twin Falls after the death of his distant school teacher grandmother, Beatrice.

Beatrice left him a grand inheritance, for no reason he can define; a lump of a trust fund, an aging Victorian home and an adjacent old mill building all on an island in the middle of the river splitting the two towns. It’s all worth a fortune. And the locals… boy are they friendly. Everyone is SO HAPPY to see another Finch back in Finch House. Gifts and food arrive for the gaming-obsessed introvert, as do offers of jobs, and loans, and even cars, but like all things that are too good to be true… Twin Falls brings out something that’s been buried deep within our misguided hero, and when it starts to maliciously twist reality, and unleash eldritch evils from places that should not be, Diggory’s life is thrown into the chaos, and he’s forced to pick sides in a battle he wants no part of.

Why I think you'll love it:

Well, if you follow my work, you probably know how big an influence Lovecraft has played on me, especially with Ichabod, and given that this is a modern Lovecraftian horror...yeah, this is totally my jam, and hopefully your jam, too. Plus, I really love the cover.

Turning Roads: An Irish Folklore Comic Anthology

Kickstarter link

Turning Roads is a collection of comics retelling old stories out of Irish folklore and mythology. Comprised of work by over thirty creators, Turning Roads addresses familiar tales through new points of view, utilising science fiction, fantasy and magical realism to bring oral tradition and collected tales of mystery and woe into modern and future versions of Ireland.

Why I think you'll love it:

There are absolutely NOT enough Kickstarter projects focused on Irish/Celtic mythology, and it's such a cool mythos, full of violence, betrayal, love, and honor.

BROKENLAND No.3

Kickstarter link

Brokenlandis a genre bending, dialogue-free comic book series written, drawn and colored by Drew Morrison.  It takes place in a tough city populated by everyone you know and centers around Meeso, a timid creature whose intentions often go overlooked.  In issues 1 & 2, Meeso has made some discoveries about themselves and the world they live in.  In this third issue, Meeso confronts the odds and learns about their true power.

Why I think you'll love it:

OMG!!! It looks so weird!!!!!! I can't believe how weird and awesome it looks. So many odd looking monsters having adventures. I'm so in for this.

Thank you!!!! + flash perk
about 3 years ago – Mon, Mar 01, 2021 at 12:28:43 PM

Hi!

Thank you so much for joining me behind the backer wall of the third volume of Ichabod Jones: Monster Hunter. Backers like you are the reason Ichabod exists. You helped bring him back from the dead in 2019, and are helping breathe life into this little book still.

ADD-ONS:

Several people have messaged to tell me that they wanted to choose just ONE pin or ONE additional ebook, so I went through and put several things in the add-on menu, which you can access by going back the page and clicking manage your pledge.

Kickstarter link

Then, pick your pledge level and there should be an add-on menu that pulls up. Here are some of the things that I added to the ADD-ON menu.

-A choice to add a specific pin. ($12-$20)

-A choice to add just one of our ebooks, or choose which you would like.  ($5-$10)

-Our Cthulhu sew-on patch - I've never offered this before. It's just like our Cthulhu head pin, except as a sew-on patch.  ($10)

-A commission by ME - This was something I offered in the How NOT to Invade Earth campaign, and people liked it, so I'm bringing it back to as an ADD-ON to this campaign. I'm not a great artist, but I think my style has a charm to it. ($25)

If you are an international backer, then please just add the amount to your pledge and I will figure out shipping later, as it was impossible to determine how to just add SOME shipping instead of charging $40+ for shipping one pin or a patch.

FLASH PERK: ULTIMATE ADD-ON

I have never offered a flash perk before, but I decided to do it for this campaign, and offer my absolute best deal ever on my courses + books + consulting + pins and do an ULTIMATE ADD-ON.

The ULTIMATE ALL-IN PACKAGE is $1,000, and is ONLY AVAILABLE until tomorow.  It includes EVERY. SINGLE.

You ALSO get:

-A 2-hour consultation with me so we can help you implement everything you've learned and get you back in the right direction. ($300 value).

-All EIGHT of our graphic book collection in hardcover. ($320 value)

-Digital copies of all our graphic books and digital novels. ($150 value).

-Nine of our pins.  ($100 value)

-Get drawn into volume #4 of Ichabod ($150 value).

-Plus, get special thanks in volume 4 of Ichabod.

That's over $3,000 in value for $1,000, easily the best value I've ever offered in a Kickstarter campaign before.

Manage your pledge

I've never offered this before and will likely never offer it again.

Other projects I think you'll love:

This is one of my favorite parts of a campaign, sharing project I love with you. I curate them from all around Kickstarter, and backers always tell me how much they appreciate it. These are all book I have personally backed, and think you will dig, too.

Glarien of White Ash #1: a fantasy series for mature readers

Kickstarter link

Glarien follows the stories of two women and the different paths they take to overcome life-altering tragedies. Jumping from the elf realm of ancient Alfheim to the gritty streets of New York City circa 1971, two seemingly-unrelated tales will slowly weave together to reveal a critical piece of White Ash's complicated past. Oh, and because Glarien is involved, expect carnage... lots and LOTS of carnage.

Written by Charlie Stickney, with art by Romina Moranelli, colors by Fin Cramb and letters by Conor Hughes, the 40 Page first issue of Glarien follows the early days of White Ash's most dangerous elf, as told through the eyes of Rachel, a young woman living in 1970's New York City.  Think Red Sonja meets Taxi Driver... but with Elves and demons.

Why I think you'll love it:

White ash is one of my FAVORITE independent comics, and Glarien is one of my favorite characters in it, so a stand-alone, bloody story featuring her sounds awesome. She's smart, lethal, brutal, and her stories are always filled with action.

Dave Dwonch and Santiago Guillen, the creators of Mind Palace are back with the sequel to their hit Behemoth graphic novel Prom of the Dead! Get ready for more growing pains in the coming-of-age sci/fi horror series with SPORES: The Broken Circle.

SPORES: The Broken Circle OGN

Kickstarter link

When last we saw the surviving students of the Pineview Academy, they had survived the worst night of their lives, aka Prom Night. Now, just one day later, Erika, Travon and Shauna are on the road looking for safety in an ever-increasingly hostile world. Little do they know that the worst is yet to come as the 'friends' they abandoned the night before are coming for them.

Dave Dwonch and Santiago Guillen, the creators of Mind Palace are back with the sequel to their hit Behemoth graphic novel Prom of the Dead! Get ready for more growing pains in the coming-of-age sci/fi horror series with SPORES: The Broken Circle.

Why I think you'll love it:

Fighting zombies in the Apocalypse is a very Ichabod thing to do. In fact he has done-is doing. Dave always brings a great story filled with action and charming characters. What else would you expect from the founder of Action Lab?

Miskatonic High - Issue 10

Kickstarter link

In the rustic hills of a small New England Berkshire town lies the prestigious Miskatonic High School. When the Community Service Club went on a field trip, they were launched back to ancient Egypt and were nearly killed by an evil wizard and his tentacle monster. They escaped back to our century, but things have never been the same. Since then, we learned some of the secrets haunting the students of the Community Service Club and that the world is not what they thought it was.

In issue #10, the coven of librarian witches begin training Alex about how magic springs forth from the Dreamlands, an imaginary world underneath our own. But Alex is more interested in learning the secrets of who killed her mother and takes a wrong turn through the Dreamlands into a nightmare realm from which she and her friends might never escape

Why I think you'll love it:

If you love Ichabod, there's a good chance that you're a Lovecraft fan, and this is one of my favorite Lovecraftian comics I've ever found. Not only is the art gorgeous, but the story is great, too. I have read an article here and there, but I bought every issue during this campaign. That's how much I dig it.

DEADSKINS! 1-4. A horror comedy western for mature readers

Kickstarter link

A Harvard-educated dandy and his blind, drunk companion are all that stand between the OldWest and an Undead Apocalypse. This is the true story of Custer's Last Stand... whatever they taught you in school is bullsh!t.

Clay Adams and Alexandre O. Philippe are Kickstarting the latest volume of their FRIEDCOMICS series DEADSKINS! This horror comedy western for mature readers is best described as "Blazing Saddles" meets "The Walking Dead. "Featuring a cover by Joe Mulvey.

Why I think you'll love it:

Clay always writes great satire, and Deadskins is no exception. His books are alway irreverent, fun, and absolutely not what you expect.  They push boundaries and flip tropes on their head and give you new ways to look at things while being filled with action and witty banter.

GORGON Vol 1

Kickstarter link

The most sought-after narcotic the modern world has ever known, powered by a secret as old as the mythologies that spawned it! Flop-houses, gutters…filled with the dead and dying users of the mind-blowing snake-oil…their flesh atrophied, hardened…turned to STONE! Warring drug cartels will do anything to possess it. A war-hardened, deeply scarred guerilla leader will do anything to protect it. And a jaded DEA agent, burned out from his tour in America’s war on drugs…will plunge into a green, sweating hell to face the horrific secret behind the chemical venom known as GORGON…and risk his life…his soul…to kill it.

Why I think you'll love it:

This Kickstarter made me stop dead in my tracks to look at that sweet, sweet art, and then I got pulled into the story.  It looks incredible, filled with action and monsters. What's not to love?

Slightly Exaggerated #1-2: A Treasure Hunt Fantasy Adventure

Kickstarter link

Slightly Exaggerated is a story set in a whimsical fantasy world where a dying treasure hunter must steal back a sacred artifact from a crazed cult leader in a world where religion is law. It's set in an over the top whimsical fantasy world filled with flying sea creatures, talking animals and lots of other crazy, fun stuff!

This setting makes for some really fun treasure hunting adventures. Think Indiana Jones/Uncharted meets a Studio Ghibli world. This story deals with a lot of deeper, mature subjects and themes like dying, leaving a legacy, religion and questioning what you've been told.

Why I think you'll love it:

That art, tho! It reminds me of Moebius. Every image on this page is breathtaking. I mean, seriously, each one is better than the last and the first was pretty incredible. I cannot stop thinking about book, and can't wait to read it.
